Kahles 6x30

Sucher-Fernrohr Das 6x30 Monokular ist am oberen Deckel mit "1m, M.18 Entfm. Sucher Fernrohr No 22" und am unteren Deckel mit "6x Kahles" gekennzeichnet. Es ist also ein 6x Monokular der Firma Karl Kahles aus Wien für einen 1m-Entfernungsmesser. Der untere Deckel ist weiterhin mit den Abnahmezeichen der Heeresverwaltung mit "HV" einem Doppelkopf-Adler und "34" (Jahresangabe) graviert. Der Wappenadler ist das österreichische Ständestaatswappen von 1934 (s. letztes Bild; vgl. Ständestaat). Das 6x30 hat keine Trageriemenöse weist aber an der zur Schriftausrichtung passenden unteren Gehäuseseite vier Montagelöcher (mit Dichtugnsfett verschlossen) auf (s. Foto 1). Die Messingdeckel sind scharz lackiert und sind zweifach am Korpus angeschraubt, das Gehäuse ist mit dunkelbraunen Hartgummi ummantelt. Das Okularstück hat eine umlaufende Dioptrienskala mit Bezeichnungen bei 0 und +/- 5, der Fokussierungsring ist in Plus-Form (+) geriffelt. Die 1/3 Augenmuschel ist aus Bakelit. Das Ende der Objektivfassung ist unlackiert, was evtl. auf eine darauf gesteckte Schutzkappe oder einen Blendschutz hindeutet.

Finderscope This 6x30 monocular is marked "1m, M.18 Entfm. Sucher Fernrohr No 22" on the upper cover and "6x Kahles" on the lower cover. It is therefore a 6x monocular from Karl Kahles in Vienna for a 1m rangefinder. The lower cover is also engraved with acceptance markings of the "Heeresverwaltung" (Army Administration, i.e. "HV", a double-headed eagle emblem, and "34" (year). The eagle emblem is the part of the national coat of arms of the Austrian "Ständestaat" from 1934 to 1938 (see last image; cf. Federal State of Austria). The 6x30 does not have a strap lug, but does have four mounting holes (sealed with some grease) on the lower side of the housing (cf. photo 1), which matches the orientation of the lettering on the covers. The brass caps are painted black and are screwed twice to the body; the housing is covered with dark brown hard rubber. The eyepiece has a circumferential diopter scale with markings at 0 and +/- 5, and the focusing ring is knurled in a plus (+) shape. The 1/3 eyecup is made of Bakelite. The end of the objective lens frame is unpainted, which may indicate a protective cap or glare shield used on it.

Das 6x Scuherfernrohr ist 105-115mm lang, oben am Gehäuse 51x55mm und unten 51x57mm breit, die Objektivfassung ist 39,5mm, das Okularstück 24mm, der Fokussierungsring 30mm und die Augenmuschel 34,5mm im Durchmesser. Das Monokular wiegt 306g.

The 6x finderscope is 105-115mm long, 51x55mm wide at its top and 51x57mm wide at its bottom. The objective lens frame is 39.5mm, the eyepiece is 24mm, the focusing ring is 30mm, and the eyecup is 34.5mm in diameter. The monocular weighs 306g.
